4. Nihondaira Zoo

Located at the western foot of Nihondaira, Nihondaira Zoo is a popular tourist attraction that was renovated and reopened in 2013. It is also famous as the birthplace of Fūta, the red panda that became famous for standing upright.

The zoo is home to around 160 species of animals. While Fūta is no longer there, the Red Panda House remains a favorite among visitors. Other attractions include the Fierce Animal House 299, the Penguin House, and the Reptile House, which feature various exhibits categorized by species.
