“Akatsuki-giri & Kaizu Ōsaki’s Reefs” became widely known when Lake Biwa was designated a national park in 1950, which helped promote the surrounding scenic spots. 4. Experience the Youthful Songs of Students from the Taishō Era at the “Lake Circumnavigation Song Museum”

The “Lake Circumnavigation Song” starts with the lyrics “I am a child of the lake ~♪.” It was composed in Taishō 6 (1917) by members of the boat club from the former Third High School (the precursor to present-day Kyoto University). The song was first performed by the club members, and it has since been covered by famous singers during the Shōwa era. Many in the older generation might have heard it.
