1. NU Chayamachi

NU Chayamachi is a fashion building that serves as a landmark in Chayamachi managed by Hankyu Railway. The NU Chayamachi building has 9 floors above ground and 1 basement level, with various shops related to fashion, home goods, and esthetic services lined up inside. In addition, there are plenty of restaurants and cafés offering Thai, Italian, French, Chinese, tempura, and more. With a rich variety of dining options from Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisines, it is recommended for girls’ gatherings or dates.

2. NU Chayamachi Plus

Directly across the road from NU Chayamachi is NU Chayamachi Plus. Up to the 3rd floor, it is a shopping mall with various shops on the 1st floor offering fashion and home goods, and on the 2nd floor, shops selling miscellaneous items, books, and interior goods. The 3rd floor houses cafés and restaurants. Among these, the “Muu Muu Diner Fine Hawaiian Cuisine” is highly recommended—a Hawaiian café & restaurant and the first Hawaiian eatery in Osaka. With terrace seating available, you can enjoy Hawaiian cuisine in style.

3. Chayamachi Applause

Chayamachi Applause is a multi-purpose commercial facility located within the Hankyu Chayamachi Building (commonly called Applause Tower), a super high-rise building standing 161 meters tall. It houses the Umeda Arts Theatre, Hotel Hankyu International, fashion brand stores, and café-restaurants. The tall open atrium starting from the 1st floor creates a spacious atmosphere, and the design exudes the vibe of an upscale shopping mall for adults.

On the basement 1st floor is “fun time Bonilla,” a popular adult restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious meal accompanied by live jazz. It has a dress code, so be sure to dress appropriately when you visit.

4. Urban Terrace Chayamachi

Urban Terrace Chayamachi is famous for its distinctive, cube-like concrete exterior. This unique appearance builds high expectations for the shops inside. The complex houses numerous stores selling cosmetics, home goods, and fashion items, along with restaurants and café-bars, making it a popular spot.

Notably, on the 1st floor is the Shake Shack Chayamachi store—a New York-based hamburger restaurant. It is the second store in the Kansai region following the opening of Shake Shack’s Hanshin Umeda flagship store in June 2018. Try the much-hyped hamburgers that are always in line every day.

5. Chaska Chayamachi

Chaska Chayamachi is a multi-use facility with an artistic exterior that stands out, spanning from the 2nd basement floor to the 23rd floor. It houses MARUZEN & Junkudo Bookstore, the wedding hotel “Almony Ambassade Osaka,” and Nagasawa Stationery Center NAGASAWA Umeda Chayamachi.

From the basement 1st floor to the 7th floor is a large MARUZEN & Junkudo Bookstore branch, which is said to be the largest in Japan with over 2 million books on display. If you’re looking for a specific book or manga, you might find it here.

In the Umeda area, there are many tourist spots. On the opposite side of Umeda Station from Chayamachi, there is the Umeda Sky Building, a super high-rise approximately 173 meters tall.
