Shima Onsen is famed as a hot spring with healing properties, its name meaning "effective for 40,000 illnesses." At Sekizenkan, the "Genroku no Yu" is a highlight – built in Showa 5, it features five stone-built baths and arched windows that evoke a sense of Taishō romance. It has been registered as a tangible cultural property by the national government.

Also recommended is "Mori no Yu," an open-air bath at Shima Onsen Sekizenkan where you can enjoy the abundant natural surroundings.
