Nasu Highland Rindoko Lake View Family Ranch | 6 Recommended Attractions Featuring Amusement Park, Ranch, and Gourmet Delights

① Zipline “KAKKU” – A Stroll in the Sky

The first thing you’ll want to experience at Rindoko Lake View Family Ranch is the zipline “KAKKU.”
A zipline is an attraction where you glide on a wire. With "KAKKU," you can enjoy an exhilarating aerial ride right above the park’s "Rindoko" lake. This is the world’s first zipline that lets you glide over a lake! The one-way course is about 220 meters long—one of the longest in Japan.
This thrilling ride across the lake is a unique experience you can only find here. It may be suspended during rain or strong winds, so it’s a good idea to check the official website beforehand. Since it operates on an hourly quota system, we recommend heading straight to the reservation counter once you enter the park.
Note: Age requirement is 3rd grade elementary school and up, with a weight limit of 25kg to 90kg.

② A Japan-First! Net Playground Above the Heads of Alpacas?!

In 2023, 177 alpacas relocated from the Nasu Alpaca Farm. As of February 2024, Rindoko Lake View Family Ranch now has 183 alpacas, making it the largest alpaca farm in Japan.
The park introduced a new, one-of-a-kind attraction called “Alpark”, a net playground suspended above the alpacas. Nets stretched among the natural forest trees let you play gently and freely like on a hammock, right above the alpacas. You might even capture rare shots of alpacas looking up at you from below!
“Alpark” is limited to 30 minutes per session with rotation every half hour. Reservations can be made just like with the zipline “KAKKU.”
Note: Children under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian.

③ Take a Walk with an Alpaca – The Popular “Al-Walk”

If you visit Rindoko Lake View Family Ranch, don’t miss the chance to stroll through the park with an alpaca with the “Al-Walk.” The alpacas selected to accompany guests are especially friendly and irresistibly cute! Taking a peaceful walk along the lakeside with one is sure to be a healing experience.
“Al-Walk” is also available by on-site reservation. Sessions are held from 10:30–11:30 and 13:00–14:00, but times may vary depending on the alpacas’ condition. It’s recommended to book early upon arrival.

④ Try Feeding Goats and Horses – Bottle-Feeding Calves Is Also a Hit

Rindoko Lake View Family Ranch offers not just attractions but also lots of chances to interact with animals, including feeding experiences. You can feed horses and goats using different types of feed, and enjoy quality time with them.
Feed costs 300 yen per cup and is available even on rainy days. You can purchase it at both the barn and the animal interaction plaza.
The “milk feeding” experience lets you bottle-feed calves—a rare and special opportunity.

⑤ Lunch & Café Time – Rich Soft Serve and Hearty Burgers from the Ranch

After a full day of fun, how about recharging with a satisfying burger?
The “Mekke! Café” next to the entrance gate serves burgers made with select ingredients, as well as rich royal Jersey soft serve—unique to the ranch. Even with a big appetite after lots of play, you’ll be completely satisfied.
“Mekke! Café” also offers dog-friendly dining, selling homemade bread for dogs called “Wanwan Bread.” It’s free of salt, sugar, and eggs, so it’s safe! There are two types: “Sesame Wan,” made with Tochigi-grown Yume Kaori wheat, and “Rye Wan,” with the rich aroma of rye.
Terrace seating is available for guests with dogs, so owners can enjoy burgers while their pups enjoy “Wanwan Bread”—a fun lunch for both!
You can visit the café without entering the park, making it a great lunch spot for travelers exploring Nasu with their furry companions.

⑥ Taste Fresh Jersey Milk and the Exquisite “Jersey Drinkable Yogurt”

Rindoko Lake View Family Ranch raises about 150 Jersey cows, known for their rich and flavorful milk. These cows are raised healthily on plant-based feed to produce high-quality milk. The milk from these cows is full-bodied yet refreshing, easy to drink, and is low-temperature pasteurized and non-homogenized to retain a taste close to raw milk.
This carefully crafted Jersey milk is available at the on-site shop “Nasu no Megumi Mekke! Marche.” Located outside the park area, it can be accessed without paying admission!
At “Nasu no Megumi Mekke! Marche,” you’ll find not only fresh milk but also dairy products made from Jersey milk and a wide variety of popular Nasu Highland souvenirs.
Among the many dairy products, the “Jersey Drinkable Yogurt” is a must-buy souvenir. It won the Local Yogurt Grand Prix at Asia’s largest food expo, FOODEX JAPAN 2018. Made only from milk and sugar, it’s a safe and wholesome recipe. With its mild acidity and refreshing taste, it’s easy to drink and perfect as a gift from Nasu.
Parking is free on weekdays. On weekends, holidays, and other special periods, parking is free if you leave within 45 minutes. It’s a convenient stop even if you’re just shopping for local products and dairy.
