Pleasant Pain! 3 Highly-Rated Thai Massage Shops in Silom

1. Center Point Massage & Spa (Silom Branch)

Located right in the heart of Bangkok’s Silom district, just a 3-minute walk from BTS Silom Station, is the highly convenient “Center Point Massage & Spa” Silom branch. On the first floor, there is an area for washing your feet before a massage and a dedicated foot massage room. The foot massage area includes a room for up to 5 people and a smaller room for 3 people, each with partitions for privacy. From the second to the fourth floors are therapy rooms, including single rooms, couple’s rooms, and couple’s rooms with a jacuzzi bath.
All rooms are equipped with lockable drawers, and showers come with jet or rain shower options, along with thoughtful amenities. In addition to massage menus, there are also infrared saunas and facials available, each in their own dedicated room. While it doesn’t have the luxury of a hotel spa and the rooms are relatively compact due to its prime location, the warm hospitality and skilled treatments are popular. With staff fluent in English, it’s no wonder that 80% of the customers are Westerners.
There are four branches in total, including the Silom branch, so even if one location is crowded, you can find another easily. It’s nice to have options close to hotels and tourist spots for when you need a quick pick-me-up.

2. Sarika Massage

Sarika Massage boasts that most of its more than 70 massage therapists are professionals trained by the Thai Ministry of Public Health. The standard Thai traditional massage begins with changing into pajamas and slippers. After having your feet thoroughly washed, they massage from your toes up through your whole legs. This is followed by careful massages for your arms, back, face, and head. In true Thai style, the therapist uses their full body weight, and the session ends with the therapist leaning back from under your back in a stretch that leaves you feeling fully extended.
There are also massages for relieving stiffness in the shoulders, neck, and back using moisturizing gel, as well as oil massages. For an extra fee, you can request a VIP room and enjoy the treatment in a private space while watching TV. If you get hungry, you can order from the attached Sarika Café, which even offers Japanese dishes such as curry rice and katsudon.

3. Arima Onsen

Known as a go-to massage shop for Japanese fathers living in Thailand, “Arima Onsen” got its name from a Japanese friend of the owner — a name very familiar to Japanese people. On the second floor, there are as many as 43 beds, each separated by curtains to ensure privacy.
The most popular option is the Thai traditional massage, but there are also various other courses, including ear cleaning, nail care, facial massages, and spa treatments. There are 8 VIP private rooms for two people, 2 private rooms for three people, and one private room each for five and six people — perfect for visiting with friends. Arima Onsen employs more than 200 massage therapists, and if you find one you like, you can request them again free of charge.
