Orange County in the suburbs of Los Angeles! Introducing its highlights

1. Anaheim Area

When it comes to Orange County’s biggest attraction, it has to be Anaheim! Here you’ll find the Disneyland Resort, which consists of two theme parks created by Walt Disney himself—“Disneyland” and “Disney California Adventure”—along with the Downtown Disney shopping and dining district and a surrounding hotel area.
Anaheim is also home to the stadium of the Major League Baseball team, the Angels, making it a must-see for fans. A giant baseball cap monument at the stadium entrance serves as a landmark, and during the season, the place is bustling with fans. Stadium tours are available year-round, so why not catch a game while you’re here?
Just nearby in Buena Park, you’ll find another theme park—Knott’s Berry Farm. It’s an amusement park perfect for thrill-seekers, and its Halloween event is especially famous. The entire park transforms into a haunted house.

2. Irvine & Costa Mesa Area

The Irvine & Costa Mesa area of Orange County is one of the safest in the United States. It’s home to many Japanese residents and has plenty of Japanese supermarkets, restaurants, and language schools. One of the main attractions here is “South Coast Plaza,” the largest shopping mall on the West Coast.
South Coast Plaza houses over 280 stores, as well as numerous restaurants and cafes, making it a very convenient shopping destination. You’ll also find major department stores such as Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue, so shopping options are endless. The mall is so large that it’s hard to see everything in just one day, so take your time and enjoy.

3. Beach Cities

California’s Orange County boasts about 68 km of coastline. Huntington Beach, also known as “Surf City,” is a surfer’s paradise and hosts many international competitions. Surf shops line the coast, and the stylish stores along Main Street make for a fun stroll.

Newport Beach is known as an upscale residential area, and wandering around its charming shops is highly recommended. Its Christmas decorations are especially famous, lighting up the town in December. The most popular tourist spots here are the Balboa Peninsula and Balboa Island, which are also famous resort destinations where you can relax by the sea.
Newport Beach is also home to “Fashion Island,” an open-air high-end shopping mall. If you want to enjoy luxury brand shopping, this is the place to go.
