Brand shopping in Silom: from top-quality items to copies, enjoy it all!

If you want to enjoy brand shopping in the heart of Silom, the most famous spot is Silom Complex. It's directly connected to the Sala Daeng BTS Station, making it very convenient. Although it’s a relatively new shopping mall, it’s not solely focused on high-end goods. It also houses a supermarket and a drugstore, giving it a familiar and approachable atmosphere.
The brands featured are not high-end luxury brands but more accessible ones like MUJI and UNIQLO, along with Thai domestic brands in the same price range. These are high enough in quality for everyday use or souvenirs, and you’ll find many products showcasing Thailand’s modern and stylish sense.

2. Bangkok Fashion Outlet

Bangkok Fashion Outlet features over 500 outlet shops from famous brands. Located along Silom Road, it lies on the west side of the Silom area when coming from busy areas like Patpong Road, but it’s easily accessible via the BTS Skytrain.
When shopping for high-end brands in Bangkok, the prices usually aren’t very different, depending on exchange rates and other factors. Since Bangkok Fashion Outlet is an outlet, finding hidden gems is a matter of luck, but if you enjoy brand shopping, this is definitely a mall worth visiting.

3. Jim Thompson

Jim Thompson is perhaps the most well-known brand domestically and internationally for creating high-quality products made from Thai silk, a specialty of the country. Its flagship store is located in Silom, just past Thaniya Road from Sala Daeng BTS Station.
Although many shopping centers carry this brand due to its popularity as a luxury Thai souvenir, the flagship store is highly recommended if you have the time—its building has a very atmospheric and well-crafted design. Lighter items such as ties and scarves are great for souvenirs, and the store also has a café and restaurant, making it a great stop during sightseeing.

4. Naraya

Naraya is a bag brand that uses materials like cotton and satin. Its signature ribbon design makes its products popular among women. Originally a local Bangkok shop, its quality and design made it popular, and it has since become a well-established brand.
In addition to Silom, Naraya stores can be found in major Bangkok shopping malls like Paragon and Isetan. However, the Silom store is known for having the only outlet section. As a local Thai brand, its prices are already affordable for foreign tourists, and with outlet discounts, it’s perfect for buying in bulk as souvenirs.

5. Souvenir Stalls on Patpong Road

The most bustling nightlife area in Silom each night is Patpong Road. Located right near Sala Daeng BTS Station, two parallel streets are lined with lively restaurants, bars featuring live shows, and go-go bars. At night, the streets fill with stalls, turning into a vibrant night market.
The stalls on this street mostly cater to tourists, offering Thai-style trinkets and clothing alongside many counterfeit brand items. Not many sellers claim these are genuine, but please be careful. Even if you’re curious, purchasing counterfeit brand goods can result in them being confiscated at the airport upon return, so it’s best not to buy them.

◎ Summary

How was brand shopping in Silom? Compared to areas like Siam, Silom, being a more traditional entertainment district, has few large high-end shopping malls. As a result, there are fewer stores selling conventional luxury brands, but the area is full of interesting domestic brand shops, long-established stores, and outlet shops, making it an enjoyable place for shopping lovers.
