Getting to Lover’s Point and Ritidian Beach in Northern Guam: Your Access Guide

Access to Dededo District

Getting around Guam is easy and convenient with the Red Shuttle Bus, a popular choice for tourists. Several routes operate across the island, mainly serving the central areas such as Tumon, Tamuning, and Hagåtña. However, some routes also extend to the northern tourist attractions of Guam.
For instance, the “Lover’s Point Shuttle” provides access to the famous Lover’s Point in northern Tamuning, while the “Morning Market Shuttle” takes visitors directly to the well-known Dededo Flea Market. Another option is the “Shopping Mall Shuttle,” which connects major shopping destinations like Micronesia Mall, Guam Premier Outlets, and Kmart, making it an excellent choice for shopping enthusiasts.
Travelers can choose between single-ride tickets or unlimited ride passes, depending on their itinerary. There are also special tickets that include a round-trip fare and entrance fees, such as for Lover’s Point observatory, offering great value for visitors.
If you plan to visit Coco Palm Garden Beach, it is best accessed via optional tours with dedicated shuttle services. Meanwhile, Tanguisson Beach, located near Lover’s Point, can only be reached by taxi or rental car since no bus services operate there. From Tamuning, it takes about 15 minutes by car to reach Tanguisson Beach, where you can enjoy pristine white sand and scenic ocean views.

Access to Yigo District

Yigo District, located in the northernmost part of Guam, is home to both historical landmarks and natural attractions. While much of the district is occupied by the U.S. Air Force base, it is best known for two major tourist spots: Ritidian Beach, famous for its crystal-clear waters, and the Guam Peace Memorial Park, which features a white monument honoring those who lost their lives during World War II.
Access to Ritidian Beach is only possible by taxi or rental car, as no buses or tours operate to this area. From Tamuning, it takes about 40 minutes by car along the Marine Drive route heading north. Be aware that parts of the road are not fully paved. The beach is open daily from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, so plan your visit within this time frame.
The Guam Peace Memorial Park was built on a historic battleground of the Pacific War and serves as a symbol of peace. The easiest way to reach it is also by taxi or rental car. From Tamuning, you can take the Marine Corps Drive, which brings you there in about 20 minutes.
