1. Sawada Beach
Sawada Beach offers a unique landscape filled with large rocks. Shimojishima Airport takes up most of the western half of Shimojishima Island. At the northern tip, 17 End is a scenic spot with the landmark of airplane approach lights.
Previously, you could drive around the coastline around the airport, but due to a number of accidents, it is now prohibited to drive. However, you can walk there. If the weather is nice and you have time, why not try walking around? We also recommend renting a bicycle at Miyako Shimojishima Airport.

3. Yonaha Maehama Beach: White sand and the ocean right in front of you
Located in the southwestern part of Miyako Island, Yonaha Maehama Beach offers breathtaking views of its pure white sand beach, the Miyako Blue sea, and the gentle curves of Kurima Bridge leading to Kurima Island. North of Ikema Island, about 5 to 20 km offshore, there is a stunning spot where coral reefs gather. Named Yabiji, this area consists of more than 100 large and small coral reefs (known as "bishi").
