Alexandria (USA)

Alexandria, Virginia is located at the western bank of the Potomac River and is known for being the home of most professionals that served in either the federal civil service or US military. It is also known as the 'city that is minutes away from Washington D.C., yet a world away'. Contrary to Washington D.C., Alexandria is heavily influenced by European architecture. It is a great walking city as it features cobblestone and brick-lined streetscape, stunning architectural details, and classic-style pubs and bars.

Voice of Travelers to Alexandria (USA)

A blast at a spontaneous trip to Alexandria

Hi, I'm Jennifer from London. I booked a ticket to Alexandria for a conference and had free time, and I decided to roam around Alexandria. I've heard stories about Alexandria looking like a lot like old Europe but I never really thought about how reminiscent Alexandria would be to old Europe. Until I saw Alexandria for myself. The cobblestone streets and colorful rowhouses really took me to a trip back in time when Europe had cobblestones and brick streets, and vibrant rowhouses with intricate details. I wish I could explore more of Alexandria. From what I have experienced, the ticket to Alexandria, US is reasonably priced, so I really have to get me an airline ticket back to Alexandria again soon.

Best raffle price ever: Ticket to Alexandria, US

Alba here from Alexandria, Egypt. I always wondered about the other Alexandria in the world. And when I won a ticket to any US State at a raffle, I immediately chose a ticket to Alexandria. My ticket to Alexandria was with Delta and Turkish Airlines, with 2 stops, and took me about 17 hours. But, it was worth it. When I got to Alexandria, the place was a complete opposite of my place. Alexandria, USA has lovely and colorful architecture. I loved the rowhouses and classic pubs the most. Definitely a must go to place in the US, and the ticket to Alexandria when I checked is not too expensive too. So, I'll surely buy myself a ticket to go back to Alexandria soon.

Best food trip in my life

My friends and I are roaming around the US, we booked ticket to different states. Alexandria was one of the US states we booked a ticket to. I gotta say, Alexandria is one of my favorite places here in the US. It's very different from a lot of cities I've seen. Our photos in Alexandria looked like we're on a European trip. LOL. The Italian food, Irish pubs, and French restaurants we splurged in were the best, especially the Bastille and the Fontaine. I really believe my friends and I would book another ticket to Alexandria. I know I would book myself a ticket.
